It is a commonly held belief that a baby’s teething causes various symptoms including vomiting, however, experts no longer think this is the case:
– Teething occurs between 6 and 16 months of age, when baby teeth start to erupt through the gums.
– Signs of teething include crying more often, chewing on things, loss of appetite and red, swollen gums.
– Teething is not thought to cause vomiting, diarrhoea, congestion, fever or a rash.
“Parents and caregivers can usually treat teething at home using simple remedies, such as cold compresses and massage. A dentist, doctor, or pediatrician can provide further advice on how to alleviate symptoms.”
