A dentist will usually prescribe braces to correct misaligned or crooked teeth. However, braces come with the problem of how to thoroughly brush and clean in and around the wires and brackets which can be somewhat challenging.
A soft-bristled toothbrush, interdental cleaner and waxed floss are required to clean the teeth properly and there are three steps to follow:
– Rinse the mouth to dislodge food particles
– Gently brush the teeth
– Floss between the teeth and under and around the wires of the brace
The interdental cleaner should be used to “gently brush around the brackets” and more information can be found at https://yourdentalhealthresource.com/how-should-i-brush-my-teeth-when-i-have-braces/
