Does a Tooth Gap Need Fixing?

A gap between teeth can be the result of genetics or lifestyle. Some gaps are harmless but other gaps can cause dental problems:

–  A large gap between the front two teeth can cause crowding of the surrounding teeth, resulting in increased risk of decay and jaw pain.

–  If teeth start to develop new gaps this could be a sign of gum disease.

–  Your dentist can advise whether gapping is a problem or not.

“Depending on your unique smile, gapped teeth may not be an orthodontic concern, although for some, they can be a cosmetic one.”
