Gingival Grafts: What Are They and Who Needs One?

If gum disease isn’t treated at an early stage, gums recede and a gingival graft may be required to restore healthy gum tissue:

– During a gingival graft, a periodontist grafts healthy gum tissue over to an area of receded gum. – This procedure will prevent gums from receding further and reduce the risk of decay or infection of the exposed root. – Regular check-ups at the dentist and a thorough oral care routine will make sure gum disease is spotted early or prevented entirely.
